It is indeed pertinent to ask if President Goodluck Jonathan, the
armed forces over which he presides as Commander-in-Chief, and other
security agencies, will go after the terrorists that abducted more than
200 teenage girls into their hideout in Sambisa Forest, in Borno State.
That question can be posed in another way: Can President Goodluck
Jonathan go into Sambisa Forest? The point is that the question of
willingness is closely allied to that of capability. But before one goes
on to look at the issue of capability, it is important first to settle
that of willingness because that is at the very heart of President
Jonathan’s administration’s strategy towards prosecuting our own battle
against terror.
From the very beginning when the terror insurgents resurfaced during
his administration, President Jonathan had showed himself incapable of
rising to the challenge. He lacked the will to take on the terrorists
and failed to exercise the power invested in him as president to bring
the terrorists to their knee. He was all too tentative, in turns weak
and vacillating on what to do.

Why Jonathan sacked Ahmed Gulak – PDP chairman reveals
The recent sack of Ahmed Gulak, President Goodluck Jonathan’s
political adviser was received with shock as he was believed to be one
of the president’s most loyal advisers.
However, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adamu Mu’azu has revealed that Gulak was sacked due to his unsavoury character traits.
The PDP chairman is said to have stated yesterday that the former adviser to the president on political matters was sacked due to his arrogance and his irrational disposition.
Mu’azu declared this in Abuja during a meeting with some members of the Akwa Ibom PDP executive committee.

The party chair said he had agreed with the President that there would be no room for arrogant officials in the cabinet, adding that they must remain focused and committed to retain their positions.
Gulak was sacked on Tuesday without the Presidency stating reasons for the action. Gulak was in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, last week to inaugurate the Goodluck Support Group (GSG) with a faction of the PDP.
Governor Godswill Akpabio objected to Gulak’s action, saying he was not informed of the visit by the ex-presidential aide. The governor also protested that Gulak met with party chieftains who were opposed to his administration.
He urged the President to punish Gulak.
Pastor vomits live snake during deliverance
A Ghanaian
pastor was alleged to have vomited a live snake at the shrine of a
fetish priest leaving residents of the area stunned.
According to
reports, the pastor (name withheld) who is known for performing miracles
had established a number of churches with thousands of congregants in
Ghana and abroad.
It was
gathered that the pastor had been performing the miracles and rendering
other pastoral services with a snake inside his belly – which is
purported to be the source of his spiritual powers. Don’t ask how
possible that is, that beats us too but the Daily Guide appears to
believe it.
Here is how they reported it.
The pastor, according to sources, went to a native doctor outside the country some time ago and was asked to drink some concoction, which turned into a snake, causing his belly to swell up.The sources disclosed that after the pastor had tried a lot of medications to get his belly reduced in vain, his wife also tried her best to assist her husband but there was no solution to his predicament, and so she decided to consult a fetish priest. This paper learnt that Togbe Shito, the fetish priest, ordered the pastor to take some concoction in the form of water and thereafter, he began to vomit the live snake, causing his wife to collapse. When DAILY GUIDE spoke to Togbe Shito, he confirmed that the pastor went for juju to operate his churches, which was in the form of a snake. He said, during incantations, the dwarfs he used revealed to him what the pastor had done and after the reptile had come out, it was burnt.

medical student in
the United States who said she was ready to auction off her virginity
to the highest online bidder for $400,000 (about N66million) has finally revealed her face despite fearing she'll be kicked out of university.
The 27-year-old, who uses the name Elizabeth Raine to protect her identity, previously hid her face in pictures and refused to reveal what she looked like.
However, she has now decided to go public in order to attract more bids.
"I actually didn't like the anonymity. People mistake it for shame," she told HuffPost
Raine, whose mother died when she was 10, says she is selling her virginity for the money, but the adventure and scandal are also factors in her decision.
"I've been planning this for a year and I've had a personal transformation because of it," she said.
"I have a busy life. I am picky and guys were never a priority. I had other things going on."
She created a website for potential bidders to find out more about her and a blog explaining her decision to go ‘from virgin to literal whore’.
The 27-year old's website features her posing in lingerie with her face hidden and information about the auction.

Releasing Names & Pictures of Abducted School Girls could put their lives at risk-Borno State Government
There have been calls for the release of names and photos of the abducted 234 girls in Borno state. Yesterday, Mrs Kema Chinwe was reported to have demanded the evidence that the girls were abducted.
In a statement by the Governor's Special Adviser on Media, Isa Gusau gives their reason for withholding the details
"The Borno State Government has a comprehensive data that includes pictures of the missing students and those that returned, which the Government is ready to publish on Friday, May 2, 2014 if the Defence Headquarters which has since been managing information on counter insurgency operations in the Northeast, gives the go ahead and Mrs Chikwe, who now knows more than the security can ensure that.
Our fear is not to reveal names that would reveal religion and family backgrounds which could at the end, compromise the safety of these girls; provide basis for families to be reached with demands for ransom or be accused of undermining rescue efforts or sensationalism.
In addition to these, abduction of girls are sometimes interpreted to mean automatic rape, where the identity of these are revealed, they could be stigmatized even after being rescued."

Child Killer/Rapist Daryell Dickson Tortured And Raped In Prison In Brazil By 20 Men
A Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor named Daryell Dickson Meneses Xavier
was reportedly beaten and raped by 20 men after he was locked up for
allegedly killing and possibly raping his girlfriend's 1year 11 months
old son (pictured with him left) in Taguatinga, suburb of Brasilia,
Brazil in Sept 2013.
According to local media, trouble started for the man after his girlfriend left him alone with her son. A few hours later, he called his girlfriend claiming the boy fell and was having seizures. The child was rushed to the hospital and died two days later. Doctors who didn't believe the boy fell called the police and told them they suspected foul play because the injuries on the boy wasn't consistent with a fall but with blunt trauma, and also said possible sexual abuse was involved. (See the anus area in the right pic above?)

President Obama Regrets Not Spending More Time With Mom
How do you achieve your dreams? Where do you find the most happiness? And what are your biggest regrets?
For more than an hour today, young Southeast Asians peppered President Obama with questions that demanded his self-reflection and personal analysis. And the famously professional Obama delivered on both, talking about life, legacy and family in at times deeply personal terms, during a town hall meeting at the University of Malaya.
"I regret not having spent more time with my mother," Obama candidly told the students when asked about his life regrets. "Because she died early - she got cancer right around when she was my age, actually, she was just a year older than I am now - she died. It happened very fast, in about six months."
Ann Dunham died from ovarian cancer in 1995 just 22 days shy of her 53 rd birthday.
"There was a stretch of time from when I was, let's say, 20 until I was 30, where I was so busy with my own life that I didn't always reach out and communicate with her and ask her how she was doing and tell her about things," Obama said. "I was nice and I'd call and write once in a while. But this goes to what I was saying earlier about what you remember in the end I think is the people you love. I realized that I didn't - every single day, or at least more often - just spend time with her and find out what she was thinking and what she was doing, because she had been such an important part of my life."
The president described a rebellious youth stemming from his "complicated" family life, growing up without a father at home, and "sometimes I was enjoying life too much."
"You have to focus more on what kind of influence and impact are you going to have on other people's lives," he said.
Family is the most significant source of happiness, Obama told the audience, but also "feeling as if I've been true to my beliefs and that I've lived with some integrity."
Perhaps the toughest question for the president was what he hopes his legacy will be. In a rambling 9-minute answer, Obama cited a range of factors. He said his "most important" legacy is fathering daughters Malia and Sasha, whom he said are "turning out to be wonderful young people."
"Being a great husband," also matters, he added, "because if you don't do those things well, then everything else you're gonna have problems with."
As for his presidential legacy, Obama spoke more broadly, noting his response to the financial crisis of 2009; promotion of greater economic opportunity for all people; curbing Syria's chemical weapons; confronting Iran; encouraging peace between Israelis and Palestinians; and, being the first American president to visit Burma. He didn't mention the Affordable Care Act.
President Obama said the event was an opportunity for him to make a personal connection with the future leaders of Southeast Asia, making something of a down payment on enhanced future ties with the U.S. Young adults under the age of 35 represent more than 60 percent of the population of ASEAN nations. Obama took questions from people representing five different nations - Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand.
He said the U.S. wants to have stronger ties with all of them.
"Some people have wondered whether because of what happens in Ukraine or what happens in the Middle East, whether this will sideline our strategy - it has not," he said. "We are focused and we're going to follow through on our interest in promoting a strong U.S.-Asia relationship."
$800,000 Hongqi L5 is the most expensive Chinese car you can buy
China's oldest car company rolled out its first vehicle on Aug. 1, 1958;
it was a chrome-lined black sedan designed -- like the pastiche of
1950s cars it resembled, including the Packard-esque Chaika -- to strike
equal amounts of fear and inspiration into the revolutionaries. In
Chinese, "Hongqi" in means "red flag," the most potent symbol of the
Chinese Communist Party, making it a fitting name for a company that
supplied the apparatchik. A symbol of power, a sphere of influence, a
four-wheeled Great Leap Forward! Curiously enough, it took Nixon's 1972
visit for Mao Zedong (who finally swore off the Soviets and their
ZIS-110s) to get into a Hongqi.
Today, you can ride around in your own Hongqi; in lieu of loyal service to the Party, you can provide something even more valuable: cash, and tons of it. How shamelessly bourgeois, you might say, and you'd be pretty damn right.
Take a look at the Hongqi L5. Under development for the last four years, it debuted at the Beijing auto show with a 5-million yuan sticker. To own China's most expensive car, you'll pay the U.S. equivalent of $801,624, which, as far as we can tell, is the most expensive car to carry one of those small, oval "Made in China" stickers. (Stick 'em on in bulk if it'll make you feel like you're getting your money's worth.) Naturally, somebody bought the first one right from the show floor.
Nailing 50 years' worth of luxury, its specifications are fittingly impressive. It digs into the pavement with

I’ve Given The Names Of Boko Haram Sponsors To President Jonathan – Guru Maharaj Ji Reveals
Just days after one Alhaji Goni, a spiritualist in based in Adamawa,
threatened to make public the names of Boko Haram sponsors, Sat Guru
Maharaj Ji has revealed that he had already beat him to it.
The Spiritual Leader of One Love Family with headquarters in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo, is said to have stated that he had already told President Goodluck Jonathan who the sponsors of the sect are.
The Guru is said to have asserted that some former military rulers, a former Vice President, and some leaders in the North are the ones funding the group.
Guru who recently declared that both sponsors of the group and those behind the April 14 bombing at Nyanya Park in Abuja that claimed scores of lives would face repercussions of their action before the end of October revealed during an interview with our correspondent: "I had told President Goodluck Jonathan those behind these nest of killers (Boko Haram) through several publications."
He . "I have asked the President to arrest them before now because they said after the 2011 general elections that because power did not return to the North, they would make the nation ungovernable.
"The spirit of the creator is against them. They are going to be dealt with. I will call them
to order in the interest of innocent Nigerians, enough of the bloodletting.
If President Jonathan had listened to the advice I gave him two years ago when I was at Aso Rock, all the killings by Boko Haram would have stopped. After my visit to the villa, the bombings stopped but because those in government did not continue to tap from my spiritual grace, the bombers returned.
"Nigeria belongs to all of us. As Living Perfect Master, I cannot be here and all these continue. I am challenging the Northern leaders to an open debate in a national television. Let them swear by the name of the Creator and all the seven elements of the earth that their actions were not the direct reflection of Boko Haram onslaught."
