He's Smart,Educated..Experienced-Obasanjo Endorses Buhari

Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria’s former president, has publicly expressed support for the electioneering campaign of Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Cable reports

Speaking at thelaunch of MyWatch in Nairobi, Kenya on Tuesday, Obasanjo, who served his two terms as president under the same Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) platform that Jonathan is now running on, condemned the postponement of the election.
“The circumstances [Buhari] will be working under if he wins the election are different from the one he worked under before, where he was both the executive and the legislature – he knows that,” he said. “It’s a question of leadership – political and military. “He’s smart enough. He’s educated enough. He’s experienced enough. Why shouldn’t I support him?”

JEGA TO BE PLACED ON COMPULSORY LEAVE

Emerging details suggested that the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, will soon be eased out of office. Proponents of this theory says he will be replaced by  57 year old Professor of Political Science is the former vice-chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Professor Nazim Olufemi Mimiko, brother of Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state, a very close ally of President Jonathan. Jega, former vice-chancellor of Bayero University became the INEC chairman on 10 June, 2010, two months after Professor Maurice Iwu was removed. His five year tenure therefore ends in June. Reports said he may be asked to proceed on a three month terminal leave in March, before even holding the first in the two-part rescheduled election on 28 March. Those who want him removed we gathered are already compiling what they described as his ‘sins’ to ensure that he proceeds on terminal leave before the March 28 and April 11 elections.

PRESIDENCY MAD AT JEGA

Relationship  between the presidency and the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC appear strained. The presidency believe INEC  is trying to play smart by blaming the postponement of the election on the inability of various security agencies to guarantee security of electorates and electoral officials and not on its own (INEC) inability to effectively distribute permanent voters card. The Chairman of INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega, had on Saturday while announcing an adjournment of the general elections, attributed the shift which was from February 14 and 28 to March 28 and April 11, to a letter written by the military over its “inability” to provide security for the elections owing to its renewed offensive against the Boko Haram insurgents. However, over the weekend, a presidential aide noted that  Jega was being “clever by half” by attempting to “pass the buck” to the military, stressing that it was a mere ploy by INEC to undermine the Commission’s poor preparations for the elections. According to the source, who pleaded for his name not to be mentioned, “Jega was not sincere at all. The collection of PVCs was to end last Saturday and 23 million cards were yet to be

Valid Reasons Why NOBODY Should Vote For Buhari – FFK

Former minister of Aviation, Femi-Fani Kayode has described the emergence of Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd.) as the presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as laughable.
He took to Facebook to share his thoughts on the outcome of the APC primaries publicly kicking against the choice of Buhari.
His message reads:
Major General Mohammadu Buhari has emerged as the APC flagbearer and President Goodluck Jonathan has emerged for the PDP. Now the battle for the soul and future of our nation begins. The forces of light shall surely prevail over the forces of darkness and God’s counsel alone shall stand over Nigeria. I stand with Jonathan. Let’s get it on.
